Goal:
To present participants with a detailed picture of the AP® Music Theory course and examination along with techniques and strategies for student success in the course
Objectives
- To become familiar with the wealth of resources presented in the new Course and Exam Description binder, and the online materials at AP® Central and AP Classroom
- To develop and discuss materials, techniques, and learning strategies for the AP® Music Theory Classroom
- To understand the AP® Music Theory Exam, its structure, questions, and scoring rubrics
- To share teaching techniques and strategies
- To devise a syllabus to submit for the AP® Course Audit
- To learn how to write items such as those found on the AP® Music Theory Exam
Expectations
- Attendance and participation in all sessions and activities
- Completion of assignments including class presentation and item writing
- Sharing of materials, techniques, etc.
Grading will be based upon these criteria.
