Monday, Day 1
8-12 am (Synchronous)
- Introductions: Administrative, pedogologic and structural challenges and possibilities
- AP® Curriculum: Examination of the Historical Thinking Skills, Learning Objectives and Concept Outline. Collaboration Activity in breaking down the AP® Curriculum using the College Board (CB) Professional Development Activity
- Pacing guide: Adjust and modify unit schedule based on suggested time vis-a vis the CB Professional workbook and school calendar
- Audit: How to sign up, gain an account and establish a syllabi
- Unit Development – expectations of project
- Discussion - Multiple Choice Questions: Breaking down the questions and rationales, designing questions of MC forms and how to teach
1-4 pm (Asynchronous)
- Exam Structure: Basic structure, Percentages and Historical Thinking skills required
- Take Practice Multiple Choice Section

Tuesday, Day 2
8-12 am (Synchronous)
- Review Day 1: Left over questions and MCQ discussion – tips on how to attack
- College Board website – discussion of resources available and deep dive in to My AP® Classroom, data analysis and how to utilize for your students.
- Examination of resources – websites, publications and other resources to enhance your classroom pedagogy
- Short Answer Questions: Discuss types of SAQs Examine released samples and hold a mock reading, deepen ability to accurately score your students’ responses.
- AP® Opportunities – discussion of opening access and opportunities for AP® Advancement
- AP® Classroom – introduction to its powerful resources, databanks and tutorials. Activities to using

- Writing Skill Development activities for the SAQs

Wednesday, Day 3
8-12 am: (Synchronous)
- Review Day 2 – Reinforce SAQ development
- AP® Exam Reports – examination of the Individualized teacher and school test analysis data and analytics issued following the exam. How to use this to enhance your class performance
- DBQs: Examination of Document Based Questions – Examine rubrics, practice Breakdown activities to build components of the DBQ as discreet tasks. Writing a partial DBQ. Spiraling DBQ activities through the year.
- DBQ Activities - Pedagogies to teach the DBQ
- Analytical Reading and Thinking: skill development activities for analytical reasoning
- Publications: Examine Textbooks and Review Guides

- Writing – Write an entire DBQ
- CB Activities – Developing Critical Thinking Skills
- Unit Design: Unit and lesson design – continue development with CB professional development booklet and additional instructor created activities

- DBQs: Mock Reading using student samples and scoring rubrics
- Discussion – Progress on Unit/Lesson design
- Spiraling Writing through the year – How to integrate varied skill building for SAQs, LEQs and DBQs through the year without going insane
- Long- Essays: Mock Reading using student samples and scoring rubrics
- Discussion/Presentation: Writing Skill Development Activities for the LEQs

- LEQ - Write your own LEQ
- Examine - additional class methodologies: Socratic Seminars, Debates in the
